Sayulita Bird Watching Tours

Western Mexico

My name is Vidal Prado, I am originally from the town of La Palma, municipality of San Blas, Nayarit. Since I was little I became interested in nature, so at an early age I volunteered at the wildlife conservation center “kiekari” (formerly a crocodile center). Where I had the opportunity to meet and interact with the flora and fauna of the area.

It was in this place where I met a guide, who began to teach me about birds and with the passage of time I received a pair of binoculars and a book in which I found a wealth of information regarding birds, a special bird known as Elegant Trogon caught my attention, who with the beautiful colors of his plumage captivated my attention. The existance of birds like this is what got me interested in the study of species of birds, this at the age of 12 years.

Currently I personally make plumage identification, nesting in addition to organizing excursions in the state of Nayarit and part of Jalisco for bird watching, where I share my passion for Nature and the Birds!

What the birders say

"Vidal took us on a hike up Monkey Mountain, he is a great & very knowledgable guide. Highly recommended."
Cyndi Anderson
As an amateur bird watcher, I really appreciated Vidal’s knowledge, skill, and passion in birding. His company was wonderful (along with ‘Uncle Benny’s’) and we both enjoyed our time exploring the local bird species of Nayarit."
Ruby Tumber
"Vidal is great. Got us to just the locations we wanted to go, planned everything out and kept us going at the speed we wanted birding all day long."
