Laguna El Quelele is an habitat surrounded by 100 hectares of mangrove forest that offers plenty of living creatures, including river crocodiles, raccoons, coatis, turtles and an amazing range of migratory and resident birds.

The El Quelele lagoon, located in the area of Nuevo Vallarta has an aquatic birds habitat. Monthly qualitative and quantitative observations of the aquatic birds present in the El Quelele lagoon,

The variation in the abundance and number of species throught the year shows that the lagoon is a temporary feeding and resting site for migrant and winter resident aquatic birds. This is evidence that show the role of El Quelele lagoon along the Pacific Flyway.

Where do your tours depart from?

  • If you are staying in Sayulita or San Pancho we will pick you up where you are staying. If they are outside the area they have to be a minimum of 2 people to pick them up at an additional cost.
  • Private tour we pick you up where you are. More than 5 people per group is considered private and has no additional cost.

What time does the tour start?

  • Summer time 7:00 am, Winter time the tour starts at 6:30 am (local time)
